2016 has been a year for the books. It seems our nation has been overtaken by tragedy, anger, fear and pure evil. From violence across our country and the world to the chaotic and hate-fueled election season, many would say it seems as though all hope is lost. But do not despair; the Christmas season is a beautiful reminder that in fact, hope is not lost.

The birth of a baby born more than 2,000 years ago gives us reason to hope. He is the One who can bring peace and restore our hope. He is what this season is all about. His birth was foretold in the Old Testament, and He is called none other than the Prince of Peace.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

It wasn’t just His birth that brings us hope, but the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ gives us hope of eternal life, if we just believe.

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.” Romans 5:1-6

Do you have hope this Christmas season? If you want peace and hope this Christmas, you must receive the free gift God gave us on Christmas so many years ago — grace, redemption, and salvation that only comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9

We hope you will take some time this season to reflect on the hope we have in Jesus and how we can live out that hope in the coming year.

From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!
