Thomas A. Herald | Personal Injury Trial Lawyer

Thomas A. Herald

Thomas A. Herald: Personal

Tom is a native Texan who has lived all across our great State. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with High Honors in 1988. After graduation, Tom attended Texas Tech Law School, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1991.

Tom is a strong believer that every attorney should maintain the highest ethical standards to protect the client and the sanctity of our legal system. He is an active member of various legal associations that promote fairness, justice and protecting our constitutional right to a jury trial.

Thomas A. Herald: Professional

Tom is not afraid of a legal fight. He has tried over 200 jury trials in his career, and has a reputation for being prepared, well-versed in the law, and a passionate advocate for his clients.

Tom is a well-respected Personal Injury Lawyer. He has handled insurance claims against insurance companies for almost two decades. Growing up, both of Tom’s parents worked as claims managers for insurance companies. As a result, it was a natural decision for him to begin the first part of his nearly 30-year-long legal career handling litigation for insurance companies. He eventually became the managing attorney for the North Texas Legal Office of Farmers Insurance, where he supervised over 20 attorneys and the majority of the company’s litigation cases. That experience gave him a unique ability to understand and anticipate how insurance companies respond to claims and how to encourage them to settle for the fair value of a claim and to pay the full amount his clients are entitled to.

After more than 10 years at Farmers, Tom changed his focus to representing individuals who have been harmed by the negligence of others. A large part of that practice involves representing clients whose own insurance companies refuse to pay a fair amount on a valid claim. In particular, Tom is known across the State of Texas for his knowledge of Uninsured (UM) and Underinsured Motorist (UIM) Claims and the Bad Faith Claims that are associated with those types of cases. Tom is a frequent speaker at legal seminars. He has also written numerous legal articles about the ever-changing, complex and often confusing world of insurance.

You can count on Tom to hold insurance companies accountable and make them do what is right for his clients.
